Alternative Investment Strategies
Philanthropic organizations have typically pursued their missions through a traditional grantmaking framework. However, organizations are increasingly adopting new investment strategies that harness their endowments, programmatic assets, and social capital to further their mission. The Alternative Investment Strategies Panel will explore innovative approaches that move beyond the traditional grantmaking model, such as socially-responsible investing, mission-related investing, program-related investing, and shareholder advocacy.

Frameworks for Strategic Philanthropy
The culminating Frameworks for Strategic Philanthropy panel will ask a diverse group of executives and visionaries to discuss their innovative approaches to grantmaking. This panel will provide insight into broad strategic frameworks for creating effective allocations models. Topics will include ‘spend-down’ foundations, core operating support versus targeted grantmaking, and the management of grantee relationships.
